Setup guide

Codex, one quota

Codex talks the OpenAI Responses dialect. AGI Plan implements /v1/responses natively — encrypted reasoning content, custom tool calls and compaction pass through untouched — so Codex runs on the same monthly quota as Claude Code and everything else, billed in CNY.

Three steps, about

Step one

Create an account

Sign up with an email address and a verification code on agiplan.dev. No payment is needed to start.

Step two

Choose a plan and create a key

Pick a plan in the console and create an API key. The key is shown in full exactly once — copy it right away.

Step three

Add AGI Plan as a provider

Declare the provider in Codex's config file and select it, as shown below.

One block in

In ~/.codex/config.toml, with your key in the environment variable:

[model_providers.agiplan]
name = "AGI Plan"
base_url = "https://agiplan.dev/v1"
env_key = "AGIPLAN_API_KEY"
wire_api = "responses"

Then select the provider — model_provider = "agiplan" in the same file, or pass it on the command line. The official guide on agiplan.dev has the exact per-OS steps.

What passes through

Reasoning

encrypted_content

Codex's encrypted reasoning is forwarded as-is; previous_response_id avoids resending context.

Tools

Custom tool calls

Codex-specific custom_tool_call and compaction events pass through, not rejected as unknown parameters.

Retention

5 hours, then deleted

Stateful responses are stored at most 5 hours and deleted by a scheduled job; the privacy policy states the same.

Before you switch

Why wire_api = "responses"?

Codex uses the OpenAI Responses API (/v1/responses), not chat completions. AGI Plan implements that dialect natively — including the Codex-specific parameters other gateways tend to reject.

Is my conversation content stored?

AGI Plan keeps no content by default. The one exception is stateful /v1/responses calls using previous_response_id, where the conversation is stored for at most 5 hours and then deleted by a scheduled job. The privacy policy states the same.

How is this billed?

A monthly plan in CNY, paid via WeChat Pay or Alipay. Usage is metered in CUs; every call is itemised and exportable as CSV. Full refund within 7 days of your first subscription if under 10% used.
